Book of Modes and Modal Patterns for Guitar

Introduction:

The purpose of this book is to provide guitarists with a comprehensive yet lucid, visual explanation of the Modes: What they are, how they relate to one another, and how to use them easily in musical practice.

My unique method for identifying modal patterns on the guitar is easy to learn, and can be integrated into any level of guitar proficiency.

I represented my ideas on Guitar Fretboard grids, a few Piano Keyboard references, some Matrix Charts, and Sheet Music notation, with professional Tablature underneath, with labels in between for either Modal or Major & minor designations, Note names, and Guitar Fingering.

The electronic version of this book is also designed to be a complete, Interactive, Multi-media, E-Book, with Digital Bookmarks & Hyperlinks for all the Sheet Music exercises, which are demonstrated with Audio/Video animated fretboards – in synch with the Sheet Music & Tablature.

In addition to the electronic version, I have created the same content in a standard 9″ x 12″ spiral bound physical Music Book, that is designed to lay flat on a music stand, so you can view 2 pages at once. These qtys are extremely limited and will be purely demand driven. if you are interested in obtaining one, please contact me using the following form: xxx

Because of my unique visual approach, one of the secondary benefits of digesting this book, will be an expanded view of the fretboard and the ability to navigate effortlessly up and down the entire neck of the guitar – whether it is a standard 20-fret Acoustic, a 21-fret Fender, a 22-fret Gibson, a 24-fret shredder, or a virtual guitar with infinite frets.

By familiarizing yourself with a few simple patterns, you will see how they connect with each other to form fretboard maps that will allow you to see new possibilities for applying your chops.

In time, with further study, you will begin to understand the intervals in each mode, the similarities and differences between each mode and how to transition smoothly from one mode to another.

You will develop a feel for each mode and will know instinctively which mode to apply in any given situation.  You will be able to hear the uniqueness of each mode in your head before you play it.

No matter your level of expertise – if you know how to play E-formation Bar chords, you can learn how to play modes in mere minutes. Just by learning seven basic patterns, you will never play a wrong note and never run out of notes.
